Ridgeland Alderman-at-Large special election

RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT)- Ridgeland residents went to the polls Tuesday to choose their next Alderman-at-Large.

Former Madison County Supervisor D.I. Smith and Wint McGee were in the runoff.

McGee received 939 votes and Smith 1,156 votes.

D.I. Smith will fill the seat opened up when longtime Alderman-at-Large Gerald Steen resigned to take the Madison County District-3 Supervisor's post he won in 2011.

Officials say there are less than 50 affidavit ballots remaining.
